Croatia’s science and education minister Blaženka Divjak has lost her seat in a national election and so will be leaving her post and returning to academia.

Divjak (pictured right, alongside EU R&D commissioner Mariya Gabriel), who was a prominent figure during the Croatian presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of the year, said at a press briefing on 7 July that she was satisfied the government had set the right direction for higher education reforms.
