Scheme is intended to create 30 professorships by 2024, as well as more study spots
The Austrian government is starting to implement a programme to improve medical research in the country, to which it expects to allocate €1 billion by 2030.
Announcing the move on 1 December, the government said it was part of a broader “goal of sustainably strengthening and expanding Austria as a location for science and research, especially in the field of medicine”.
