Analysis looks at how publishing in 11 recent EU member states has changed since 1990

EU member states in central Europe have steadily increased their research publications and collaborations since 1990, but the effects of joining the bloc are unclear, according to a new analysis.

Between 2004 and 2013, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia joined the EU.
