Austria to exceed EU R&D spending goal for 10th time

Ministry projects R&D spending will have hit 3.22 per cent of nominal GDP in 2022

Austria may have exceeded EU R&D spending goals for the tenth time in a row, according to provisional calculations from the country’s government.

On 21 April, Austria’s science ministry said it expected national R&D expenditure to have reached 3.22 per cent of nominal GDP in 2022, once again exceeding the EU target of 3 per cent.
