Government plans to use additional money from EU Covid-19 recovery fund

The Spanish government has announced that it intends to allocate an additional €1.3 billion to research and innovation from its share of the EU’s Covid-19 recovery fund.

It previously committed €3.4bn to R&I from the EU’s €723bn Recovery and Resilience Facility, which was set up to mitigate the economic and social effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Each EU member state gets a share to spend on a limited range of activities that includes R&I.
