Senior scientists say government “ignored” rules over appointments for National Science Centre council and director

Serious concerns have been raised about ministerial interference at Poland’s public funding agency for basic research, the National Science Centre (NCN).

The agency’s founding director, Andrzej Jajszczyk, told Research Professional News of “attempts to paralyse” the NCN, while a former member of its governing council, speaking on condition of anonymity, said he feared “that it’s coming to the point of political corruption”.
