Recent years have seen success rates for applicants plummet at the Danish council for independent research (DFF), according to an evaluation report commissioned by the Danish science agency and published on 27 October.
Success rates slipped from 33 in 2004 to 22 per cent in 2008. In 2009, only 12 per cent of applications for funding were successful.
