Danish companies that partner up with research institutions and so-called GTS institutes, which disseminate knowledge and technology to companies and public institutions, are more competitive than their less R&D intensive counterparts, according to a study published by Denmark’s science agency on 11 July.
Companies that invest in R&D and work with the GTS institutes make 9 per cent more money per employee than companies that don’t, the study found. The study included 20,000 businesses over a period from 1997-2007.
