Permafrost centre tackles Greenland climate change

Two research groups at the University of Copenhagen have secured 60 million kroner (€8m) from the Danish National Research Foundation to set up a centre for research on permafrost, the university said on 2 February.

The six-year grant for the Center for Permafrost (CENPERM) will focus its research on Greenland. However other countries will benefit, said Bo Elberling from the university’s Department of Geography and Geology, who will head up the centre.
