A review by the Danish government's Public Accounts Committee has highlighted concerns about how the government manages its R&D and innovation funding.
The PAC is unsatisfied with how the Danish climate and education ministries oversee R&D and innovation grants. According to the committee the ministries lack an overall strategy on how to allocate grant funding.
The committee also notes that the ministries lack specific goals, which makes it difficult to evaluate how the funded projects contribute to government’s long-term goals to increase security of supply through renewable energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to create growth and jobs.
