Innovation fund gets bulk of reserve money

The Danish innovation fund is to receive more than half the money distributed from the government’s 2015 research reserve fund.

The Danish government will distribute 857 million Danish kroner (€115m) from its 2015 research reserve fund, out of which kr455m will go to strategic research, technology and innovation. This includes kr130m for research into biological resources, kr65m for health and clinical research, kr40m for transport and infrastructure, and kr40m on welfare research.

Other research areas that will get funding from the reserve include kr48m for a programme on environmental technology development, kr218m on excellent research, kr60m for international cooperation in research, and kr24m on research infrastructure.
