University of Copenhagen announces director

The University of Copenhagen has appointed Jesper Olesen as its director.

Olesen has been working as administrative director at Denmark’s ministry of business and growth since 2011, and was previously the deputy permanent secretary for the ministry. He holds a master’s degree in the political sciences from Aarhus University.

Olesen will be part of the University of Copenhagen’s management group alongside the rector, pro-rectors and deans. The group is responsible for handling the university’s 8 billion Danish kroner (€1bn) budget.
