Food research partnership launched

Four universities in Denmark, Sweden, Italy and Hong Kong have announced the creation of a joint research centre that aims to improve global food safety.

The launch of the Joint Centre of Excellence in Food Safety was announced on 8 November and is a joint effort between the Technical University of Denmark, Lund University in Sweden, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the University of Bologna.

The initiative will focus on antimicrobial resistance, food authenticity and safe food packaging, the institutions said in a statement.
