The Danish government has announced a plan to limit the number of degrees it will fund to one per person.
In a statement on 10 November, the centre-right governing Venstre party said that it had signed an agreement with the Social Democrats and the Danish People’s Party to limit the number of degrees the state will fund. This means that people can no longer study for a free second higher education degree at the same educational level as their first degree or lower, the government said.
The agreement will free up funding, which the government said it will spend on unemployment benefits and on improving the quality of education.
