Finland’s plant science is high quality, but research kit needs to be used more efficiently and small research units need to collaborate more with bigger groups, says a report published by the Academy of Finland on 16 September.
The findings come from an international review panel that has evaluated plant science research at nine Finnish university units and three research institutes. The assessment covered quality of research, funding, research equipment and researcher training as well as dissemination of research results between 2005-2009.
