Finnish cancer research praised

Research by the Germany-based LabTimes magazine shows that Finland has emerged as a world leader in cancer research measured by the average of citations per article.

Finland popped up as the European leader in cancer research by achieving 26.4 citations per article on average. In addition, Kari Alitalo, a Finnish professor specialised in blood vessel formation, was the fifth most cited cancer related researcher in the world.
