Gaming professorship to support Finnish craze

The Helsinki-based Aalto University has established Finland’s first professorship for computer games. Perttu Hämäläinen was chosen for the five-year post and started his employment on 29 March, the university announced on 12 April.

Hämäläinen is active in the game design studio Virtual Air Guitar Company. In his research he specialises in embodied user interfaces between human and computer.
