Finnish energy sector fails to compete

Finland needs to invest in its renewable energy sector in order to compete internationally, according to a study by the Ministry of Employment and Economy published on 29 August.

Despite Finland’s good innovation infrastructure and versatile R&D environment, the country doesn’t have much expertise in the sector, the report says. No renewable energy companies achieved over 10 per cent growth in three consecutive years and its solar- and wind energy exports trail the market leaders.
