Tekes and Skolkovo launch call for start-ups

The Finnish and Russian funding agencies Tekes and Skolkovo have announced the first call of a joint programme for small and medium-sized companies.

Every project application must include at least one company from both countries, and the money is specifically targeted at start-up companies. Tekes will provide the funding for Finnish companies, while Skolkovo will fund the Russian side.

“It is time to open the doors to Russia, as Russian companies have advanced technological competence and more funding capacity than Finland,” said Tekes director general Pekka Soini. “However, Russian companies lag behind on exporting this knowledge globally.”
