Universities fear 2015 funding cuts

Universities Finland, the Finnish Union of University Professors and the Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers have sent a letter to the government in response to on-going budget negotiations. They are calling for the index not to be cut.

In 2012 the index was halved, and for 2013 it was fully frozen. As a result, Finnish public funding for universities was reduced by tens of millions, the organisations said.
