Plan to increase science in government

The Finnish government has launched a call for research to increase evidence-based policymaking in national decision making.

The €10 million call, launched on 7 December, invites applicants to devise a way in which the government can systematically take into consideration research and scientific evidence when making policy decisions. The call is aimed at universities, research centres, companies, international organisations and consortia.

The call is open until 18 January, and funding decisions are expected by March 2016.
