Infrastructure funding receives support

Finland’s research institutions have said that the government’s strategy for the use of research infrastructure is on the right track.

The ministry of education and culture conducted a survey on the strategic development of research infrastructure among universities and research institutions in the summer of 2015, and published the results on 18 December. The majority of universities and research institutions said they believed the government strategy to be in line with plans to promote free access and joint use of infrastructure, according to the survey results.

However, respondents to the survey stated that information on research infrastructure needs to be centralised to promote easier access and understanding of research opportunities.
