The Academy of Finland has launched its third call to strengthen universities’ research profiles.
The call, launched on 26 October, aims to support universities in speeding up their strategic profiling exercises in order to improve the quality of research. The call has a specific emphasis for universities to focus their distribution of work and to promote collaboration between institutions.
Universities can apply for funding to boost their existing research fields, to focus on potential emerging fields, or to go into new fields of research, the academy said in a statement on 20 October. Additionally, the purpose of the call is to increase cooperation between universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutes, hospital districts and other organisations such as companies.
