Norway’s institutes spend less on R&D in 2010

Norwegian research institutes' R&D spend slipped in 2010, according to statistics published on 9 January by the Norwegian Research Council.

The institutes’ R&D expenditure came to 10.4 billion kroner (€1.3bn) in 2010, which is a nominal increase of 1.5 per cent compared to 2009. But when inflation is taken into account it is a real-terms decrease of 1.7 per cent.
