Norway boosts petroleum industry research

Forskningsrådet, the Research Council of Norway is offering grants worth a total of 375 million Norwegian Kroner (€45m) to 40 projects through its petroleum industry research programme Petromaks 2.

The grants are for 23 research projects, 13 innovation projects and four projects strengthening Norwegian cooperation with Brazil, and are the largest funding pot provided by Forskningsrådet in the past decade, the council said.

“Because of the high quality of applications, the programme committee decided to increase spending by kr55 million more than planned,” said Petromaks 2 programme chairman Per Gerhard Allegrini.
