The Norwegian government has launched a tender to establish a research centre for the cultural industries over a four-year period starting this year.
Launching the competition on 20 March, the government said that the centre would be important to develop fields such as heritage, religion, history and publishing, and inform future policy. The centre is expected to strengthen the contribution of these fields to Norwegian industry and look at funding policies, said the government.
A total of 5 million Norwegian kroner (€600,000) will be provided for the centre per year between 2014 to 2018.
