The Norwegian government has signed up to the Eurostars 2 initiative, the EU programme to support research and innovation in small businesses, for 2014 to 2020.
According to a statement issued on 3 March, the industry ministry says that the programme will fit with its national objectives to support small companies. Funding from the EU programme will be used by Norway to meet its plan to spend 80 million kroner (€9.7 million) a year on SMEs.
Under the previous Eurostars programme, which ran from 2008 to 2013, Norway participated in a total of 78 projects and received 287m kroner, according to the national research council Forskningsrådet.
