The first results from the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme have shown that Norway has increased its participation compared with Framework 7.
The results show that Norway has increased its involvement from 1.5 per cent in Framework 7 to 1.87 per cent in the first year of Horizon 2020. Norway’s aim, outlined in the government’s national strategy last May, is to increase participation to 2 per cent by the end of the programme.
The figures, published by Norway’s research council Forskningsrådet, show the country has been most successful under the societal challenges pillar, where its participation amounts to 2.6 per cent. In the Industrial Leadership and Excellence Science pillars, participation was 1.7 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
