Berit Rokne, former vice-rector of the University of Bergen, has been appointed rector of the planned Vestlandet University College.
Rokne is a professor in the department of global public health and primary care at the University of Bergen, and was the institution’s vice-rector between 2009 and 2013. She has a PhD in nursing science.
The interim board for the Vestlandet University College decided on 24 November that Rokne would be appointed rector for a four-year term, according to a statement issued by the Norwegian Association of Higher Education Institutions.
