Fires damage Moscow research institutes

Two fires and an explosion have affected two research institutes in northern Moscow, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reports.

The blazes on 13 November, thought to have been caused by gas leaks, happened at the Gamalei Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology and the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Radio Engineering.

The article says that two people were injured, one severely, following a subsequent explosion at one of the Gamalei institute’s centres for microbiology and infectious diseases.
