Academy calls for clarity after first year of reforms

The president of the Russian Academy of Sciences has called for clarification of its role in relation to Fano, the Federal Agency for Scientific Organisations.

During a meeting with the Federation Council, Russia’s upper house of parliament, Vladimir Fortov said that scientific organisations were severely hampered by a lack of clarity, according to an article by the Russian news agency TASS.

This follows the first year of far-reaching reforms to the Russian science system. On 20 November, a public hearing will be held in Moscow to discuss the first year of the reforms.
