Six candidates eligible for selection as the next EU ombudsman have been identified.
The applicants include three MEPs: Ria Oomen-Ruijten, a Dutch MEP from the European People’s Party; Dagmar Roth-Behrendt, a German politician from the Socialist and Democrat group, and Francesco Speroni, an Italian member of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group.
The remaining three candidates are Alex Brenninkmeijer, Markus Jaeger and Emily O’Reilly.
