MEPs call for SME support in 2016 budget

The European Parliament’s Budgets Committee has called for small and medium-sized businesses to be a priority in next year's budget.

The Budgets Committee met on the 26 February to pass a resolution on its 2016 budget priorities. MEPs agreed on the importance of encouraging small businesses, especially start-ups.

“The development of an entrepreneurial culture in the EU could give back to SMEs their role as main job creations in the Union, which has been weakened by the financial crisis,” said the draft guidelines for 2016 budget preparations.
