Parliament seeks to bridge science-politics divide

The European Parliament plans to establish a Science Media Hub in an effort to promote science-based policymaking.

The Parliament’s planned Science Media Hub will be located in Strasbourg and will form part of the EU’s wider efforts to involve scientists in policy.

The announcement was made on 8 November by Paul Rübig, Chair of the Parliament’s Science and Technology Options Assessment unit (STOA), at a ‘Science Meets Parliaments’ event geared at improving dialogue between scientists and politicians.
