The European Commission has reorganised its research directorate as of 1 February.
Amongst the changes, the DG gains a dedicated deputy director-general for the policy area of Open Innovation, Open Science and Open to the World—the three priorities set by commissioner Carlos Moedas for his term in office.
The updated organigramme introduces a post called principal adviser for migration issues, held by Octavi Quintana Trias, who until now was adviser for a task force on smart specialisation. Jack Metthey has moved from heading up Unit A, on policy development and coordination, to take charge of Unit I on climate action.
