Women’s rights committee chair condemns Polish government’s opposition to gender references in EU policymaking
The Polish government is using arguments around gender equality to chip away at the rights of women and sexual minorities, a leading member of the European Parliament has told Research Professional News.
Austrian MEP Evelyn Regner, the chair of the European Parliament’s committee on women’s rights and gender equality, made the criticisms when asked about the Polish government’s opposition to including references to gender equality in a recent EU position paper.
