Regional funds also set for ‘increased focus’ on R&D
Negotiators have agreed to boost spending on research and innovation under two broad 2021-27 EU funds.
The European Parliament and Council of the EU agreed on 8 December that the InvestEU programme, which is intended to leverage €400 billion of investments from national budgets and industry, should allocate €6.6bn of its €26bn EU guarantee to research, innovation and digitisation.
