Governments sign off plans for European Research Area

Plans reaffirm the EU’s aim to spend 3 per cent of GDP on R&D

EU member state governments have signed off their position on reforming the European Research Area, a suite of policies to raise R&D standards and remove barriers to the free movement of knowledge and researchers.

The final text on the ERA, approved by governments by email on 1 December, broadly follows draft versions previously reported on by Research Professional News.
