European Parliament research committee: UK R&D ties ‘vital’

But fraught Brexit negotiations must not delay start of Horizon Europe, MEPs say

With negotiations on the future relationship between the EU and the UK swiftly nearing a crunch point, the European Parliament’s research committee has emphasised the importance of R&D ties between the two.

“The Covid-19 crisis has shown that continued cooperation in research and innovation between the EU and the UK is vital,” the committee said in suggestions it adopted on 27 May for the Parliament to incorporate into a motion on the Brexit negotiations.
