EU’s global R&D cooperation ‘should be more systematic’

Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted shortcomings in global team-ups, EU advisers say

The EU has room to improve on its international cooperation on research and innovation, according to a dedicated advisory group on the subject.

Ways in which existing cooperation is lacking were revealed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Strategic Forum for International Science and Technology Cooperation of the European Research Area and Innovation Committee said in an opinion paper it published on 3 July.
