EU set to aim for ‘seamless’ cross-border higher education

Draft European Education Area plan foresees borderless university cooperation and courses

The European Commission wants national and EU higher education policies to enable “seamless and ambitious transnational cooperation” between universities in Europe, a draft plan has revealed.

The Commission plan for the European Education Area—a suite of policies designed to support and harmonise national higher education systems—is due to be published on 30 September, alongside a plan for the similar European Research Area.
