EU leaders have welcomed the inauguration of Joe Biden as president of the United States, saying it represents an opportunity to renew transatlantic cooperation on many research-related topics.
On 20 January, his first day in office, Biden (pictured) signed executive orders returning the US to the Paris Agreement on climate change and the World Health Organization, after his predecessor Donald Trump pulled the country out of both.
