Research groups unite behind push for ERA influence

But at least one university group is sitting out plans to shape European Research Area

Sixteen research sector groups have united in support of an official proposal to create a stakeholder forum for shaping the European Research Area, but at least one other remains convinced the proposal is a bad idea.

The ERA is a longstanding policy package for improving European research by devoting more resources to it, improving research careers and reducing barriers to mobility. It is seen as crucially important by research organisations, which are mainly responsible for implementing the policies.
