Portuguese minister is less optimistic than Commission on governments’ ability to deliver flagship strategy
EU research and education ministers agree that a European strategy for universities set out by the European Commission will be hard to implement, according to the Portuguese minister with this remit, Manuel Heitor.
Speaking to Research Professional News following a meeting between the EU ministers on 24 and 25 January, Heitor said there is “great support for these ideas to strengthen European universities” but that there was also “a consensus around the table” that the strategy “is a challenge and is hard to implement”.
