Parliament pushes to alter EU’s seven-year budget framework

MEPs want more flexible funds for responding to crises like the Covid-19 pandemic

The European Parliament is pushing for the EU’s seven-year budget framework to be altered, to help the bloc respond faster to crises.

In May, the European Commission said it would propose an “ambitious review” of the Multiannual Financial Framework in the second quarter of 2023.
