EU ‘should overhaul’ governance of its scientific advice

Various science advisory bodies should be evaluated “regularly”, report says

An “overhaul” of the governance system for scientific advice in the EU is needed, according to a report from the European Commission research department.

Released on 10 October, the report on the future of science for policy in Europe says there is an “increasing willingness of governments” to use scientific advice in the context of public debates.
