‘Future-oriented’ sectors at risk, says EU business group

     

BusinessEurope says bloc should stop “micromanaging” research-intensive businesses in AI and biotech

The EU must reduce its regulations if businesses in research-intensive areas such as biotechnology and artificial intelligence are to compete with rivals overseas, the bloc’s main business lobby group has warned.

“EU institutions and member states will need to reduce the regulatory hurdles to investing, producing and commercialising innovation in Europe,” said BusinessEurope, which represents industry and employer organisations from multiple European nations.
