Law change ‘an option’ for boosting EU’s academic freedom

Study finds academic freedom in EU laws is currently “open to interpretation” by member states

A change to EU laws could be an option to boost academic freedom across the bloc, a study has found.

The European Parliament’s in-house research department conducted a study on academic freedom to support the parliament’s Panel for the Future of Science and Technology in developing a way to monitor it in the EU member states.
