EU-Africa R&D cooperation plans signed off

        

Deal on health and infrastructure approved by representatives of both sides

The African Union and EU have agreed plans for further research and innovation cooperation, including on creating tools for monitoring potential public health threats and making research infrastructures more affordable.

The European Commission announced on 20 July that representatives of the two blocs had adopted draft plans for short-, medium- and long-term joint actions in areas including public health and environmental sustainability.
