Iliana Ivanova promises she would defend Horizon Europe budget and prioritise widening, simplification and innovation
MEPs have quizzed Iliana Ivanova on her nomination to be the next EU commissioner for research and innovation, including how she would protect the bloc’s R&I budget.
Ivanova (pictured), who was nominated in June to become Bulgaria’s new EU commissioner after Mariya Gabriel resigned to co-lead a new Bulgarian government, faced a joint hearing of the European Parliament committees responsible for research and education on 5 September.
